Application Information

The TPD6S300A provides 4-channels of Short-to-VBUS overvoltage protection for the CC1, CC2, SBU1, and SBU2 pins of the USB Type-C connector, and 6-channels of IEC ESD protection for the CC1, CC2, SBU1, SBU2, DP, and DM pins of the USB Type-C connector. Care must be taken to insure that the TPD6S300A provides adequate system protection as well as insuring that proper system operation is maintained. The following application example explains how to properly design the TPD6S300A into a USB Type-C system.
