Overview

LP-AM243 is a development board for Sitara™ high performance microcontrollers from the AM243x series. This board is ideal for initial evaluation and prototyping as it provides a standardized and easy-to-use platform to develop your next application. The LP-AM243 is equipped with the smaller form factor Sitara AM2434 ALX microcontroller unit (MCU) along with additional components to allow the user to make use of the various device interfaces including Industrial Ethernet, standard Ethernet, Fast Serial Interface (FSI) and others to easily create prototypes.

The AM2434 supports a variety of Industrial Ethernet protocols like EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET. This LaunchPad™ provides a smaller peripheral set than the TMDS243EVM as it is equipped with the smaller form factor AM243 ALX package.

This extended version LaunchPad™ development kit offers additional IO pins for development and supports the connection of two BoosterPack™ plug-in modules. The LP-AM243 also features an intuitive Out-of-Box Guide to help engineers quickly get started with their evaluation.

LP-AM243 is a prototype evaluation module and is available in limited quantities.

Additional tool feature

LP-AM243 EVMs now feature High Security Field Securable (HS-FS) devices. For additional information regarding identifying and using HS-FS devices with Code Composer Studio, refer to the HS FS migration guide section of the AM243x MCU+ SDK and the security chapter of the LP-AM243 EVM user's guide

The Code Composer Studio™ IDE is a complete integrated suite that enables developers to create and debug applications of all Texas Instruments Embedded Processors (Sitara, DSP, Automotive, Keystone), Microcontrollers (SimpleLink™, C2000 Digital Control, MSP430, TM4C, Hercules), as well as Digital Power (UCD) and Programmable Gain Amplifier (PGA) devices.

Windows 32bit is not supported with CCSv12. If you are using a 32bit Windows System please use CCSv8.3.1 or earlier.
XDS510 class debug probes are not supported with CCSv12. Support for XDS510 class probes was deprecated years ago for Linux and macOS. If you need to use one of these older probes please use CCSv8.3.1 or earlier.

Thank you for your interest in the AM243x MCU PLUS Software Development Kit (SDK). This software accelerates application development schedules by eliminating the need to create basic system software functions from scratch.

This SDK support AM243x EVM and AM243x LP PROC109E2 board revision. Networking examples are validated with E3 rev for AM243x-LP
The SDK includes a real-time multitasking kernel, network communications support, examples, and drivers.
The exact content of the SDK depends on the capabilities of the device, but all devices share common APIs and build on existing proven software components to ensure reliability and quality.
The software components are fully tested to ensure that they work together with TI’s Code Composer Studio integrated development environment.
